Mock Trial gives students early experience in legal procedures, and an exciting, comprehensive, first-hand look at what law looks like in practice. Students take on different roles to act out a civil or criminal trial by arguing for either the prosecution or defense against another team, which acts as the opposing side. Each team of students decides what strategies to use to try to win the case, just like the participants in a real court case. Students will even dress for their part whether it is a high-powered lawyer, an expert witness, or a battered victim!
