Keyboarding (MS & HS)
Teacher: Mrs. Bowker
In today’s society, typing is the key to getting a great job. Most jobs require some degree of computer work, and knowing how to type quickly and efficiently will make you more marketable than your fellow worker who simply “finger pecks” at the keyboard. Learning to type is an important investment in your career future. Many schools have embraced the importance of typing and they are encouraging students to schedule a time set aside for daily typing practice. Teaching students the correct methods of typing while they are young is an important step to ensuring their future success. In this course, the student will learn the touch method of keyboarding using a personal computer keyboard as well as document processing for personal letters and memos. Emphasis will be on accuracy as well as spelling, grammar, and punctuation. The course will require focus, self-discipline, and practice, practice, practice to remain on schedule. However, the end results will last a lifetime.
