Debate

​

Winning a good argument can be fun, but it's even better if you can do it with good sense and style.  This class is about how to have a dignified, decent debate with someone else, both in a one-to-one style and with a partner.  We'll read, write, and research debate resolutions, case constructions, and rebuttals.  The main topics will follow this year's NCFCA debate topics, in case students would like to compete as part of a debate team outside of class.

 

Required Materials:

• Internet access for researching topics and a notebook for writing notes and in-class debate tracking of arguments.
