Public Speaking (Middle School)
One of your teachers asks you to present an idea or share a project with your class. But how do you do it without reading your entire paper and boring your classmates? In this class, you’ll learn the basic parts of a speech from an attention-grabbing opener to a solid closing remark. You’ll discover how to make great eye contact without memorizing speeches and how to incorporate visual aids that help your listeners remember your speech for months or even years to follow. We’ll practice speaking throughout the semester so that you not only develop confidence as a speaker but you actually look forward to opportunities in 4-H, Scouts of America, Youth group, other classes and more.
