Mrs. Suzanne Haverkorn

 

This course emphasizes the skills and knowledge required to produce an online monthly newsletter and contributes to the production of the EMERGE school’s newsletter. Students will conduct interviews, write in a variety of journalistic forms, discuss editorial positions, and help produce and edit the newsletter using desktop publishing. Business management skills, essential to the self sufficiency of a newspaper, will be emphasized. Students may also have opportunities to explore a variety of journalistic fields, such as photojournalism and video journalism. The class will also spend the entire year developing an EMERGE yearbook.

  • A strong team attitude

  • Camera (Smartphone camera will do)
