What do tales of love and revenge, a scientific experiment gone wrong, a journey into Middle-earth, and a junior demon named Wormwood have in common? All will be the subject of our literary adventures this semester as we read, discuss, and respond to novels, plays, short stories, and poems. We'll talk about the classics of literature, analyze a variety of works, and discuss and write about how these works reveal their authors' worldviews and impact our thinking and feelings. Our goals will be to understand, evaluate, and appreciate literary works within their historical context and in relation to biblical truth. Vocabulary, review of MLA formatting, higher-level thinking skills, and hands-on activities will also be a regular part of our semester.
