Mrs. Heidi Fry

Did you know that GPS relies on geology for remote sensing?  Scientists use geology to determine when Old Faithful will erupt. Throughout the year, we will discuss and explore the processes that shape Earth. This is only possible by getting our hands on learning and we will be doing just that. We will cover Earth's early history and structure, plate tectonics, volcanoes, earthquakes, mountain-building, rocks and minerals, tsunamis, glaciers, climate and weather patterns, and Earth's precious resources. By the end of the semester, you will know how geology affects your decision to play in the backcountry on any given day. You will also be able to impress your friends and family by describing Montana’s unique geology or discussing if life on Mars is actually possible!
