Graphic Design I

Mrs. Sarah Wilson

Introduction to Graphic Design with Adobe Illustrator
Graphic Design I introduces students to the fundamentals of design and the premier vector-based tool used by professional designers. Students will learn design principles such as composition, hierarchy, typography, and color theory while developing skills in Adobe Illustrator. Through a series of creative projects, like posters, logos, and digital graphics, students will explore how shape, type, and color work together to communicate ideas. Student will learn how to talk about design with their peers through critiques. By the end of the course, students will have a foundational understanding of design thinking and a small portfolio of original work.
